Privacy Policy
Plain English: we collect only what we need to do our work, we don’t sell anything, we name the third parties who touch your data, and we treat sensitive tax information with the care our practice requires.
Who we are.
Beaconshire Advisory, LLC (“Beaconshire,” “we,” “us”) operates this website at beaconshireadvisory.com and provides tax preparation, tax advisory, fractional CFO, and IRS representation services. What this policy covers.
This policy describes information collected through this public website. It does not govern the confidential information you provide once a written engagement letter is signed — that information is protected by the terms of your engagement letter and the professional duties of confidentiality applicable to our practice.
Information we collect.
You give us:
- Contact form submissionsName, email, phone (optional), topic, and the content of your message. Required to respond.
- Scheduling informationIf you book a strategy session, our scheduling provider (currently Microsoft Bookings) collects your name, email, time zone, and any answers you give to intake questions.
- Lead-magnet email subscriptionsIf you download a guide or subscribe to a list, we collect your email and (if provided) your name.
We collect automatically:
- Server logsStandard request logs (IP address, user agent, referrer, request path, timestamp) kept by our hosting provider for operational and security purposes. Typical retention: 30–90 days.
- Minimal cookiesThis site does not use third-party advertising cookies. Embedded scheduling and font services may set their own cookies as described below.
We do not collect:
- Biometric identifiers or biometric informationWe do not collect, capture, store, transmit, or sell biometric identifiers or biometric information as defined by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (740 ILCS 14). Our website does not use facial recognition, fingerprinting, voiceprinting, or similar technology.
- Children’s dataThis site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
- Tax IDs through public formsPlease do not include Social Security numbers, Employer Identification Numbers, or other sensitive identifiers in the public contact form. For sensitive documents, request a secure portal link.
How we use information.
- To respond to youReply to inquiries, schedule conversations, send requested materials.
- To deliver servicesEngagement intake, document gathering, and the work itself, once we have a signed engagement letter.
- To improve our websiteAggregate performance and usage analysis from server logs.
- To comply with lawWhere retention or disclosure is required by tax, legal, or regulatory obligation.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use personal information for behavioral advertising. We do not share contact lists with third parties for their marketing.
Third-party services we use.
Running a website inevitably means routing data through service providers. Here’s the current list:
- Hosting & form handlingOur hosting provider receives all server requests and handles contact-form submissions on our behalf.
- Scheduling (Microsoft Bookings)If you book a session, your name, email, and any intake answers are processed by Microsoft Bookings. Microsoft’s privacy statement.
- Email marketing (MailerLite)If you subscribe to receive a guide or newsletter, your email and any related preferences are processed by MailerLite. MailerLite’s privacy policy. Unsubscribe is one click in any message.
- Web fonts (Google Fonts)Font files are served from Google’s CDN. Google may log the request IP. We use no Google Analytics or advertising products on this site.
- Email infrastructureOutbound and inbound email is processed through standard business email infrastructure (e.g., Google Workspace or Microsoft 365). Email is inherently not end-to-end encrypted; for confidential documents, use the secure portal link we’ll provide.
How long we keep information.
- Inquiries that don’t become engagementsUp to 24 months, then deleted unless you ask to remain on a list.
- Active client recordsRetained per professional and regulatory standards; typically seven years after final engagement, longer where required.
- Server logs30–90 days, depending on the hosting provider’s defaults.
- Email subscriptionsUntil you unsubscribe.
Your rights.
You can ask us to:
- AccessProvide a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- CorrectFix inaccuracies.
- DeleteRemove information, subject to retention obligations for active or recently concluded engagements.
- Opt out of emailUse the unsubscribe link in any newsletter, or email us directly.
Illinois residents. Illinois residents are protected by the Illinois Biometric Information Privacy Act (BIPA), which regulates how biometric identifiers and biometric information may be collected and used. We do not collect, capture, store, transmit, or sell biometric data from any user, including Illinois residents.
California residents. California law (CCPA/CPRA) gives you specific rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing. We do not sell or share personal information for behavioral advertising. Email info@beaconshireadvisory.com to exercise any of these rights.

Security.
We use commercially reasonable technical and organizational safeguards: TLS encryption in transit, access-controlled storage, multi-factor authentication for client portals, and secure document exchange for sensitive identifiers. No method of transmission over the public internet is perfectly secure; please use the portal we provide rather than email when sending tax IDs or other sensitive documents.
Links to other sites.
This site may link to external resources (regulatory authorities, source documents, articles). We don’t control those sites and aren’t responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes to this policy.
We may update this policy. The “Effective” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be summarized on this page for at least 30 days.
